“I feel like this credit union is so much more than a bank, in fact it has made my life less stressful in many ways and I am grateful for that. I have been a teacher for 4 years now, and just turned 27. Money is always tight, and when I was in college, I essentially ruined my credit...or so I thought.

For my first three years in FL (I moved from NJ), I was compulsive about keeping records, making payments early, and being responsible with my money. I was paying rent, as well as financing furniture. When it came time to apply for a credit card, I felt as though I had earned the right to responsibly take on the world of ‘plastic’. I felt as though I had showed the bank, my apartment complex, my friends and family, that I could handle it. Well, that wasn't the case.

When my car started to die, I would lay awake at night trying to figure out how I was going to replace it. I was driving to school, 30 miles down I-75 with no driver side window, and water coming up through the floor! I felt helpless when people said, ‘why don't you get a new car?’ I wanted to break down, throw my hands up in the air and say, ‘Because I can't!! Because no one will trust me!’
