This story is about Janet, who is an associate at the branch in the San Carlos/ Fort Myers office. I went in there to open a bank account for my three month old son during the afternoon. It was quiet when we went in and I had planned it that way, so not many people would be shooting us dirty looks as I strolled in with my 2 boys, one 23 months and the other 3 months. Needless to say I was feeling brave to venture out with both of them. Any young mother knows that its scary to go out by yourself with two kids and only two hands.

Janet took us promptly as we walked in and even stood at the window showing my oldest son a fire truck. She even got crayons and a coloring book in attempt to keep him occupied. He got pretty restless, as most 2 year olds do. Janet assured me that there was nothing to worry about...and told me about her two little girls. This made me feel better, even when my 3 month old was screaming, knowing that she understood what I was going through.

When we were just about to leave, the skies opened up and it looked like a monsoon outside. Fearing running to the car with two little ones, we decided to take our time in hopes that it would clear up. It didn’t. So I thanked Janet for her time and helpfulness and proceeded to pick up my 2 year old in one arm and the baby carrier in another and left. I barely made it out the door when Janet stopped me and offered to stay with my sons while I pulled up the car. Another lovely women who was just walking into the bank, gave me her umbrella.

"Janet showed me that there
really are people who are
willing to sacrifice their own
comfort for someone else's."
